Breeders of cob/heavyweight cobs

Hi everyone - looking for breeders of cobs and heavyweight cobs.

Ideally, something like this horse...

Im in East Anglia but willing to travel.

Ideally under 5 years old, from yearling up to 5 would be ok.

This is where i bought the big lad in my avatar:

He has lots of young cobs mostly bred by him (under 5) both coloured and solid, its best to ring as his stock changes all the time, and he can source horses if he hasnt got exactly what you want.

He is based in Durham, and has an excellent reputation around our parts.

The guy i phoned never got back to me - something which does annoy when you are interested in THEIR horses.

JoBo their horses are lovely. Some real pretty youngsters. What is interesting as well is that some of them are related to my cob who is by the now deceased Old Horse of Wales, as I noticed that there were a couple of them that had the Old Horse as the grandsire. I can wholly vouch for his temperament if my horse is anything to go by. My lad looks a lot like his dad, but has less black and is so sweet with people. So willing and so genuine.

Aren’t they just gorgeous, I can’t help but keep looking at the website and dreaming. I so want a baby cob again. Bodey has been such a darling to do everything with, and I have so much fun on him. I’m glad you saw some of your cobs relatives. They are the best, aren’t they?!
 
JoBo they most certainly are :) I am currently saving for another horse myself at the moment. There are a few types I am interested in but I still keep going back to the cobs when I am searching. I think it is their temperament and looks that draw me in. I do want something with a bit of umph as I have my confidence back now. But I don't want anything accident prone or with glass legs. I don't do horses that have the tendency to spend a lot of their time on box rest lol. I would like a bigger cob or cob cross ideally that is bigger than my other lad who is 14.3hands. But I don't want a ploddy type. My boy isn't ploddy. He is safe and forward going and has a super canter and can canter on strike off if asked. A lot of the bigger cobs I see though are the ploddy types and I don't want to go backwards if you get me. I am tempted by a younger one to bring on, but must be 3 or older ideally so can be ridden now, but it is the size that worries me as a lot of the true Gypsy Vanner types that I have and I like tend to be around the 14 hands or so mark and I want something 15hands plus really.
I don't know lol. I think maybe when I see something I really like and want I will aim to get it, but until then I am just browsing.
 
Awww the picture you posted is of a clyde cross rather than a gypsy v? Try searching for clyde and see what you find. My lad was a clyde cross and was a fantastic allrounder and could deal with every situation and are taller than the gv types.
