OK, so I have a nice mare, super temp, excellent bloodlines. She is branded and pink papered.

To make the most of her breeding potential (i.e. value of foals thrown) would it be in my interest to have her graded? And if so how on earth does one do this? She is 10 BTW, so not a baby and therefore I don't even know if she is eligible for gradings anyway!

Many thanks!

If she has been imported from Germany she may well have been graded & possibly performance tested too, as this would normally be done at 3 / 4 yrs old.

There is an online enquiry form in English here: http://www.oldenburger-pferde.com/horses/index_45.php or their phone number is 00 49 4441 9355 0.

Lois Allard - ( 01525 240094 ) is the Oldenburg representative & organises the UK inspection & foal branding tours, which will be happening in the next couple of months, so if she hasnt been done, it isnt to late to get her inspected

also if she has a foal then she will need to be graded into the stud book anyway - they will do this at the grading for the foal !! my mare is BWP and is overstamped now with Oldenburg on her papers x
