Did anyone on here used to work or go to school at Bremond College Riding Establishment in Coventry. I was there when Joyce & Gwen were stable girls and Pierre Genolet was the riding instructor in the seventies. Anyone else have any memories of the place, both good and bad!?

Hi, I used to work in the stables. the horses there were Pluto Erga, Nautika, Kreiser, wanda, mushka, giovanni and harwin. Ponies were Sonny, Michael, Issac, Joe, Half Pint, Copper and not forgetting Baltazhar! Any of those still about when you were there? I loved working there even tho it was rather a weird place. I rememberbeing scared of Madame, well I was only 16 at the time. I was sad to here about the stables closing, were you there when it happene?. I hope all the horses found good homes.

I've just found this thread. I never went to school at Bremond, but I did ride there in the seventies - both on their horses and I also used to bring my own on occasions. I can remember it being very strict, and although I didn't go to school there, I had to wear their green riding jacket with the black velvet collar when I went to ride.

I remember Joyce and Pierre. Also remember Madame very well. I knew all the horses that Waterfront has mentioned. Bremond was the place where I really learned to ride properly.

Strange thing is - in later years, I went to teach there. I taught Speech & Drama and PE. I went on to teach the little ones in the nursery/primary department, and was sadly there when the school closed down.

Lovely to find this thread - and a chance to reminisce!
