The more I think about her test the worse it makes me feel

. To be honest, I think the judges should have rung the bell after the second extension - she was clearly unlevel, maybe even lame. The judges don't have to explain themselves, if they think a horse might be lame they are justified in ringing the bell. Why allow the test to continue?

Its so sad. This mare was fabulous in her day. Why was she put forward when obviously not right. She was also overweight and didn't seem fit.

Do you know of any footage of it? I don't think I was watching at the time of the test and I would be interested in seeing it.

I don't know if the footage is available, might make its way onto YouTube at some point though

.

She was lame/unlevel right fore in the trot extensions and half passes. She also looked odd in the canter work at times, but yet managed beautiful piaffe. Strange. But I've seen horses eliminated for one or two slightly uneven steps in Novice/Elementary tests, she looked a lot worse yesterday I'm afraid

I watched it...also thought she didn't look right

but then surely she would have to have passed the vet inspection earlier ??; agree with the mare being overweight which was exacerbated by Rebecca's size (she looks tiny on that mare!).
I watched a footage of Brentina at training with Klaus Balkenhol several months ago and she definitely was much worse at Beijing.
Her breathing was rather heavy too.

She looked grossly over weight IMO.
It was a real shame. TBH Ive never really followed the dressage, but obviously hearing about this mare, she was really good in her day.
I agree, she didnt look very comfortable, a real shame.

i didn't see it, i'm glad tbh. Brentina is a wonderful mare and that is a real shame if she was wrong.
does anyone remember when Aherlich won Olympic Gold in spite, it was said at the time (never seen the footage myself so not sure) of being obviously unlevel in the extensions? his passages and piaffes etc were so good that they pulled his marks up enough to win. that's what i was told, anyway. am ready to stand corrected though.

Can't honestly say I saw any lameness (but then I'm not really good at that anyway), but I did think she was very unfit and was huffing away like a train...

Such a shame as she is a lovely horse.
