I have been using Brewers Yeast as a calmer and it has completely transformed my cob from a bolting spooky monster into a totally chilled nice person to ride! I totally rate it!

I get it from Simple System Feeds.

thanks folks - thats a great help - will give it a try - how much is it from simple systems? Also any of you with other good results please reply - thanks x

Hi I use simple systems total eclipse - which has brewers yeast in it. I think its the b vitamins which are supposed to help calm horses as they are good for the nervouse system and to help regulate hormonal imbalances, also its good for digestion which also often related to stressy horses. Try the simple systems website. I buy a big sack if total eclipse for about £35.

There's been quite a gew posts regarding BYeast, i feed it to my shetland for sweet itch, on a past post someone said it is a main ingredient in feed balancers. I feed the tablet form as my shettie is very fussy, there is someone on her that orders powder form off a website and it is very reasonably priced but I can't remember who!?!

I have fed brewers yeast to one of my nervous TB's and he is different horse on it. He is an incredibly fussy eater but has always accepted it in a pure form.

He could be very nervous and jump when alone. Still nervy but doesn't boil over. I used to be able to feel his heart thumping through my legs when we were out. He'd stop, look at something and freeze with his heart hammering. That has now stopped. Now he just looks and stays calm.
