Thoughts and prayers for young Brian Twoomey, in intensive care with head injuries, after a crashing fall at Perth yesterday.
The only job that has an ambulance follow you around. My very best wishes and thoughts to his family. I hope and pray he makes a full and speedy recovery xx

Awful news and it's Brian Toomey, although the information released today does sound a little more hopeful......

Not a good day at Perth. 2 horses definitely not returning home and another unlikely to see a race course again. Added to the suspected serious jockey injury not a day to savour.

In total contrast to the previous day when everything went so smoothly.

As it stands at the moment Brian is still in an induced comma.

Perth rarely has fatalities, a few injuries but I entirely blame the clerk of the course - not the greatest at giving the going correctly but thats another story entirely.

Don't blame anyone, sometimes bad things just happen, although summer jump racing is always a risk......

Perth's Clerk is notoriously naff at goings - she didnt get a single one right last year and had more arguments with jockeys than an OTT debating society!
