Bridle recommendation please - cut back from ears

Hey guys

I have a 17.3hh WB. He's in an XL bridle which fits fine all over but I really feel like the headpiece pushes forward against the base of his ears. The browband appears to be roomy enough.

Any recommendations for a bridle that's got a headpiece that's shaped away from the ears?

Just bought one - a Jaguar. Saw it on a friends horse, particularly like that the flash can be removed completely, no annoying little loop left on the noseband - it also comes with two sets of cheeks. On the negative side the first time I did it up the attached loop on the throat lash pulled apart due to poor stitching so it will have to do back to the (on line) shop. No opinions on fit or how the horse went in it as it wasn't on him for long enough due to the fault!

I have an albion KB comfort bridle which is cut away behind the ears, it's lovely and my horse goes much better in that than my sabre bridle

Another vote for the Albion KB! You can buy the headpiece on its own from the National Saddle Centre website - can get all bridle pieces separately.

My very sensitive TB goes really well and it's beautiful quality.😃

I was also going to suggest the Albion, it really is beautiful!! However it isn't cheap if you want to buy the full bridle. As STR suggested, the Jaguar bridle is really lovely and more affordable - you can find them on the Thermatex website or on ebay x

I have a Harry Dabbs. Mine has a mexican/ grackle noseband. Really like the headpiece the curve is just right. The only points I dislike are that the throatlash seems quite short (I'm having to use hole 1) and the noseband quite big (top holes). It also came with two sets of cheek pieces, super handy for a horse who alternates between snaffle and gags etc - but mine is used on one who does everything in a snaffle typically as it didn't fit the other! I'm not sure whether mine is a Cob or a Full, I was looking for a sizing stamp the other day as ordering a new bridle (of a different make) but can't see one anywhere atm .

If at all possible I'd like to spend around £60. Don't know if that's do-able :s

Just over your budget at £75, but evision equine bridles are supposed to be really lovely quality? Might be worth looking on ebay, you can find some real bargains there x

A few years ago my friend brought a heritage bridle that had lovely supple leather, and is more within your price range, they also do a 'comfort style' too. Might be worth having a look? Not sure if it's cut away around the ears though. The comfort one is £53.99 on jhequestrian.co.uk. x

I had a bridle made for my pony and because of her head shape it was cut away behind the ears. Would it be possible for a saddler to just make the headpiece to match the rest of your bridle?

Evison equine do one that is shaped like the jeffries ir bridle and they will mix and match sizes. Lovely and soft too.
