I was wondering if you lovely lot could recommend me a bridle for my new lady - can't ride her until I have one and she's bouncing round the field as we speak so need to order it today really if I stand a chance of getting on her at all!

Have had a quick look round but getting quite confused over them and haven't got a tack shop nearby to go and see what they're really like so was hoping you could suggest something quality & long lasting? It would be for every day use but also pony parties so want something nice!

I just need a full size bridle in havana, with a cavesson noseband - nothing too heavy as she has quite a fine head. Preferably around £80 max, will be selling my beloved too-small Stubben to put towards it.

I really like the bridles that have a bit of a cutaway by the ears to reduce any pinching, I've noticed the Townend ones have this but never actually seen them in the flesh, are they nice? Would be v grateful for any suggestions!

Thank you! x

Heritage do a nice cheap bridle - I have a nose band made by them and i was surprised now nice it was for its price.
I also like on eBay the FSS bridles - I've not had one but heard good reviews. They do loads different styles and colours - worth a look.

Sabre. If you accidentally break a bit it's easy to replace as you buy the bridle in bits (also good when horse is half and half in bridle sizes, like my horse!)

I've also just bought the Heritage comfort bridle and used it on my boy for the first time today, it is absolutely lovely! The leather is so soft and seems very good quality for the price! (got it in sale for £56 ;) ) He seemed a lot happier in his head too so would def recommend.

Liked the look of the evision one but didn't want crank nose band. Ended up with Frank Baines flash convertor bridle which is lovely but slightly over your budget at £105.

Oddly the Robinsons Reqisite daily bridle is not bad quality - especially not for the price. It wouldn't be your "best" bridle but for day to day use they are perfectly adequate and cost about £30. Robinsons own brand sizing can be a bit hit and miss but I found the bridle sizing to be fairly standard. You can get the composite peices as well if you have a half size horse. (You know what I mean...)
