Hey All!

Have brought home my beautiful little TB mare and cannot find a blinkin bridle to fit her! Stubben full and cob not right, Albion full too big, Sabre cob too small, JHL full MASSIVE!! Someone suggested a composite bridle by Albion but I just looked at the price and nearly fell off the sofa - £170!!!!

Can anyone suggest a more reasonable alternative? I don't really want to do the mix/match thing unless I have to. She has a very dainty little head but quite broad from behind the ears to the front of her head, and an average sized nose! Also quite short in the head.

Hope someone can help!

Thanks :)

Gibsons saddelry Newmarket can custom make you a bridle for no extra charge or buy of the peg very reasonably priced and top quality I don't think they do any blind though all their tack is fairly workmanlike

Try Kieffer.

^ This mare is an anglo (15.2 and a bit hh) and she has a tiny head for her body size. The best fit that I found for her was a cob sized Kieffer.

I've also got a pony bridle with a full sized browband for the arabs, which might work for your horse. It's not too expensive to get a bigger browband as there are lots of bargains about. :)

I should have said that for the anglo, I put a friend's cob bridle on her that was mostly a good fit and measured from bit to bit over her head. I also measured the throatlash, noseband and browband lengths that she needed and took the tape measure to the tack shop. I must have looked a right idiot measuring all their bridles but I did find one that would fit her! :D

I purchased the GFS range for my two s you can order the different components sepreately but they still match - think the baby tb's was about £40 and the giraffe was about £60
