I have seen a lovely English leather bridle for sale that would look really smart on my ID, it has clips on to the bit rather than buckles or billets.
Does anyone use a bridle like this? What are your thoughts? Do the clips cause more movement than leather?
Thanks in advance P x

The only time I have used this type of bridle is when I was working on the yards. Very handy as you can have the same head piece and just change bit/noseband in 5 seconds to suit which ever horse. Loved it, far better than faffing about for 10 minutes trying to do it all! I probably wouldn't get one for every day use as I only ride on horse now and I switch between Pelham/snaffle every couple of months so just change over when cleaning, and I'm not sure how well they would look in the ring if competing?

I use one of these bridles bought from one the English bridle company and is very useful as I do change his bit when schooling/jumping. Doesn't seem to be any different from a normal bridle just slightly bulkier than buckles or billets. I have one on my ISH

will PM you

I use clips for the reins. I wanted them like that so I could tie him up in his bit less bridle, which has a lead ring for lead rope. I can then clip the reins on for riding, or unclip them if I turn him out briefly for some grass in our communal trackway. I simply converted normal reins by attaching them to trigger clips!

Both mine wear HKM Grackle bridles, which have clips onto bit, they both go well and I love then ad it makes changing the youngsters bit so much quicker. With 3 ponies on DIY anything time saving really helps.

I'm hooked (sorry!!!! LOL) on these sort of bridles.

My loan mare came with an endurance (synthetic) bridle, where the side-pieces which attach to the bit are clip-fastening, and also the reins. Its a really jolly little bridle and I don't know how I lived without it.

I bought, on e-bay, a Barefoot bridle which is a similar design: both you can detach the clips and use the "bridle" as a headcollar.

The most useful piece of tack I've ever had :) Luvvit.

Thanks everyone! It has brass fittings but my bit is silver coloured. Have no need/intention of changing it so wonder if I should wait and see if I can find something with SS fittings.

I used to ride a horse with these on his bridle. I broke them twice as he caught the clips an his feed bowl / strip on stable door etc. While I was untacking!
