I need a new bridle, for the past 5-6 years I've been using a Robinsons bridle (and it's still going strong despite never being looked after as carefully as it should and being on every horse I've ridden in that time!). My spare bridle is awful and one of those delights that goes mouldy over winter (yum!) so is being thrown away, also I've retired Murphy so no longer need it as often.

I'm looking at a comfort bridle, mainly for use on a standardbred, so nothing too wide or it'll look silly on his little head (his pic is below in the Robinsons bridle)! I only need a cavesson and preferably not a crank if at all possible...

I've seen a gorgeous Jaguar-they have plenty of options such as changing from a crank to a normal noseband and extra cheekpieces for different bits. But eek, the price!

I've also spied a Rhinegold, not as good quality though, but looks lovely. There are also a huge choice of Kieffer bridles too, so many that it's hard to narrow it down. The Comfort 1-4 are all nice!

Based on your experience, what you've heard etc, what would you suggest? I want to have one now that lasts forever so despite the prices, I may have to save up and just bite the bullet

I treated the big fella to a hunter bridle from JMS saddleworks and had the new cob one M2M from the same lady (cob has a wierd sized head hence M2M!) Lovely quality, good customer service and reasonably priced IMO :)

I love my jaguar bridle, i have an amerigo bridle, of which the head, cheeks and browband are great, still look like new despite daily use for the last 4 years. Unfortunately the reins and noseband both broke quite quickly, i don't know if it was just dodgy pieces of leather because the rest has held up really well. I would also rate Jeffires bridlework, however all of mine is at least 5-10 years old, so i don't know what the quality is like these days. They also seem very £££ these days, i used to consider them a very good quality not too expensive option, but they are now more than i would be prepared to pay i think.

Im watching this thread with intrest as I have been toying with getting a Jaguar comfort bridle.

I have looked at so many different ones from the cheapest to the expensive and have decided that this is one of the better ones as I did not want to spend £££s but wanted my moneys worth.

Cheapest Ive found is £110.00 with free delivery so its not too bad.

I have an Albion Comfort bridle with cavesson noseband, had it for 4 years now and it still looks lovely - especially when I clean it.

I have a Jeffries wembley which is really nice leather.

It has a comfort headpiece (padded poll with Noseband strap over the top rather than Under)

It's normal cavesson with raised and padded browband

Its only £100 and is fab! Cleans up like new - my horse has a fine head and it's fine - I use it on my 4 year old :)

They also make a hunter style one for £80 which is lovely.

i have just newly bought a schockemohle stockholm bridle bridle and have to say the leather is beautiful and looks great on the horse i am now toying with getting another one for the other horse.
here is a few pictures of the bridle on my baby girl

djlynwood-good price, hadn't found that but I'll check out the sales!

Kirsty+java-well, hadn't come across that, one of my friends has a Jeffries and it is lovely, scrubs up well even when covered in solid grass spit and sweat etc! (yummee). Had a quick search, can't see a Wembley with a comfort headpiece, can buy it separately but seems a little £££ for a headpiece, will keep looking though!

tikino-that's stunning! Love the second pic where she looks like she wants to play with the camera herself!!
