I'm having trouble getting a bridle to fit my warmblood. He's currently in a full size sabre but seems to be a bit on the tight side behind his ears. His showing one is a Crosby double bridle in full which fits him fine. I'm just looking for a schooling bridle so don't want to pay much more than £100-£120. Any suggestions?

I've changed the browband already, it's just the headpiece sits right onto his ears. I did buy a bridle from colligate where it was cut away from the ears on the head piece but the xfull was a stingy xfull.

I use a Micklem on mine and the cut aways by the ears made a lot of difference. He's in a cob bridle but needs a full size browband, and the ear cut aways/bigger browband have meant that that's sorted the problem, without having to go up a size.

Not sure what their bigger sizes come up like though, and obviously not everyone wants to ride in a Micklem (I love mine though!)

Fylde do lovely bridles, I have a cob who has a very large head and full size wouldn't fit him but was struggling to find x-full, but fyldes full fits him. Also you can buy all parts of the bridle individually so you can get different sizing of browbands, nosebands, cheeks and head piece. Fylde are more showing and hunter bridles but I think they look really smart!

I also bought a Salamo bridle at olympia (never heard of the make) but the leather is really supple and was half price at £30.00, that is full sized and fits my cob really nicely.
