A company called RPS are doing a safety review of the Cambourne Bridleway bridge in Cambridgeshire.

The history is that when the plans for Cambourne were drawn up, there was an amendment for a bridleway bridge to carry a bridleway over the dualled A428.

Typically, the developer and district council scuppered the plans at the last minute and the result was a one-way crossing with roundabouts along the side of the road bridge which incorporated a pegasus and horse stiles.

Messed up a whole 17km loop the county council were trying to promote and the one or two brave souls who tried to use it found there horses jumped the motorcyle stiles!

So now we have safety review of a bridge no one dares to use.

If anyone is in the are and knows that route, the address for the company is J N Russell, RPS Transport, 3 London Road, Newbury, Berks RG14 1JL

Please write to them if you use the route
