good chance here to ask for some joined up bridleways - no doubt cycling & walking groups will be pushing for more, probably riders will be overlooked again unless they reply.

The Wash & Fens Green Infrastructure Master Plan
Community Consultation Workshop

Green infrastructure is a term used to describe natural and recreational open space used for our wellbeing, for example, places for a walk, a cycle, games in the park or a chance to go bird watching. It is also used to describe the areas that provide wild animals and plants with the capacity to live, move and spread throughout the landscape.

The Wash & Fens Green Infrastructure Master Plan is a project that will influence strategies and plans by local councils, developers, nature conservationists and countryside access organisations, plus many other interested parties. It will help to deliver positive gains for wildlife, countryside access, maritime activities and the rural economy across The Wash & Fens area.

We are mapping all of the green features in the fenland countryside and communities, as well as in The Wash itself. The green features are those that: provide habitats for nature; give access to open, natural or recreational areas; are countryside or historical attractions.

We are sifting through all the mapped data to identify gaps in the many wildlife corridors and the countryside access. This will be the basis for the Green Infrastructure Plan to be provided to organisations working across The Wash & Fens, which will help them work towards making improvements through development planning, countryside management and the rural economy.

But we need your help!

The Community Consultation Workshops are an opportunity for interested parties and individuals to influence the information presented in the Green Infrastructure Master Plan.

Please come along to view the maps and share your local knowledge.
• Do you have a favourite green area that you visit?
• Are you knowledgeable about an area we have already mapped?
• Is there any green infrastructure missing from our map?
• Is there any green infrastructure that you would like to see created to improve the public access, wildlife habitats or countryside attractions.

Throughout the area we will be holding a number of workshops, each will start with a presentation and will focus on a different District. The green infrastructure maps for all Districts will be on display at each workshop and all can be commented on.
