Bright yellow gooey gunk... ring vet?

For the last 3 days my tb has had bright yellow gooey gunk coming out of both his eyes. its not so bad that its running down his face but its alot more that i would like and the amount is increasing each day. he seems very out of sorts too, very grumpy and aggressive, although this might be the weather or the fact that a new horse has joined the yard.
i noticed some of the discharge on one of my others yesterday but not today.
should I call the vet? ive heard that eye infections can take hold very fast and often mean the horse can lose an eye.

yes have the vet, eyes are not worth messing about with it get serious very quickly

done. it was conjunctivitus. hes got drops and bute to make him better.
