Hi Guys,

We are off to Leo' at the end of next month to hopefully get me a nice 3yo.

Has anybody been before? (I have been to lots of normal sales but never the Welsh specific one).

Any expectation of price for a Sec D 3 yo? To make 15h prefer a traditional compact sort not of these modern sporty creatures that I keep bumping into.

Ideally chestnut with 4 whites and a big white face BUT I think I'm being optimistic ;)

I cant help you on the price thing but I'm curious myself :) Been eyeing up the Welshy sales that are on in Builth this weekend with the Thorneyside lot in the evening. My boy is by Thorneyside the Terminator he's 14.3hh & very old fashioned if thats what you're after.

I want a dun .......... lol

Prices are up and down, going by Brightwells Spring sale (Builth) prices were generally lower, seen some very nice 4 year olds go through for £400 or less. Fantastic dun welsh D stallion didnt even make £800 and was unsold

Autumn prices do tend to be higher though.

Duns and pals tend to be quite pricey.

Go through some of the old Brightwells results they can give you an idea

Weve just sold our section D 2yr old (rising 3) privately, bay 4 whites & a blaze, nice little chap, to make 15hh.....i wont tell you how much i got, but suffice to say i could cry...but he needs to go. As Pipkin says prices are really up & down, just depends on whose there on the day.

I believe they publish recent sale prices on their website. I remember someone posting some recently on another forum

If you go on there website it gives you the passed results- which should help give you an idea.

They aren't making much at the moment.

Its a nice sales, remember to register when you get there, there is also a vet and personally I would always have this done as it gives you extra security after sale. Read the rules and have fun. The tack sale is usually good too.
