I am thinking about going to watch Brigstock BE with a friend of mine at the end of May. Is it worthwhile going hour and a half to it? (its sort of half way between me and friend so is most convienient!)

yes, it's really good, can see plenty of xc course from close by the tradestands and sj etc. lovely event. last year there were lots of tradestands, and i'm sure they'll have lots this year too.
btw, a little birdie told me that the estate has been sold, so this may be the last ever Brigstock, i really really really hope not though. not sure i can divulge who the rumoured new owner is, since it might all be total rubbish, but if it's who i've been told it is, they are horsey, but not into eventing... but there is some hope... ;) ;)

I can confirm it is a lovely event to watch. Easy access around the course and usually great Trade stands for shopping.
As I believe the Laings took over the running of the horse Trials 2 or 3 years ago. It was previously run by Diana Maxwell.
I really hope the new owners keep the horse trials going, it is a lovely event, although it didn't run for a few years, now it is revived I for one would like to see it stay.
