It doesn't look staged to me and the write up was that someone happened to be on the far bank and see it. The dangling guy was tall and suggested it.
Let's just celebrate a selfless act by a bunch of nice boys.

Probably genuine. My bil’s dog fell 20 feet over a wall on holiday, just disappeared from view. Luckily, where he‘d fallen was easily accessible and the vet said he was just bruised.

It was genuine - saw it on my phone a couple of weeks ago - the guy who took the vid asked the news channels for any money to be donated to a dog charity but they wouldn't do it
