Hi,
When going on your first hunt, would you recommend bringing a friend with you to keep you company, or will the idea of two newbies put the organisers of the hunt off? x

if the hunt doesn't restrict the number of 'visitors' allowed to join in each day then there is no reason why both of you can't go!

it's reassuring for you and your friend if you go together, but at the same time, if you were on your own there would be someone to look after you!

either way I hope you have fun!

I would certainly recommend you take a friend, for many good reasons, firstly your hunt I feel should welcome new members with open arms providing you checking with the secretary first. You will feel more at ease knowing somebody, your horse may feel also feel better with one that you usually ride out with, two heads are better than one and you will thoroughly enjoy yourselves, not only that but if you feel that you want to bid good night and come home early, you have someone to ride back with safely without your horse getting excited by leaving the rest of the field.

I would recommend you contact the secretary and explain that its you and your friends first time, she may be able to advise you on a preferred meet that is more suitable for first timers, the type ground conditions and send you some information about your local hunt and what you should and shouldn't do, they may also give you some names of some members that will take you under their wing and show you the ropes and indeed learn a thing or two. :)
