First of all i'm new here and don't know if this is the correct place to put this post, please let me know if it is not and direct me to the correct section, ta ;)

So as the title is pretty self explanatory - i need some advice, my horse who has been off for just over a month due to injuring his leg in the field, the laceration went down to his Extensor tendon, which thankfully, was not effected :) the wound has now healed and is just a small surface scab, clean and dry, he is not lame and hasn't been at all the whole time, my question is when bringing him back in what sort of things can i do? i started riding him again yesterday only in walk for 10 minutes and he loved it, is there a program i could follow? (there's not really much point asking the vet, they hardly ever get back to you) what do people suggest? i dont in any way want to rush him and i want to take things slow but it cant be too slow with him as he gets superdooper bored so quickly :/
anyone been in this situation before?
thanks

Firstly, welcome to the forum :)

This question would get more people seeing it if it was posted in the tack room section - this is probably why you've not had responses.

I think any horse can start on 20 mins walk, every day, with a few trots in week 1 then week 2, 30mins up to 40 mins walk and short trot by end of the week.
Plenty of walking, build up to an hour then a bit of cantering week 4.
