Horse are finally getting there shoes back on on 1st April, after at least 6/7 months.

anyway, they're all just happy hackers so how long do you think we should (try to

) stick to walk and trot for?
They should get ridden most days, depends how many people are in and time, etc.

And any tips for keeping them controllable on the first few rides?

Well my boy had that time off last year because I could not ride and I walked him up and down the lanes and hills for 4 weeks starting off with half an hour and building up to an hour. I then introduced short bursts of trot for the next 3 weeks and have been building that up over the last few weeks. I always increase distance or speed separately, never together to avoid straining the horse.
