Anyone used Brinicombe equine supplements, particularly Think Sound? Or their TopFlex/TopFlex HA? I've not come across them before but I was looking for a joint supplement that has glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM and boswellia (I'm sure I've spelt all those wrong!). Think Sound has them but also looking on their website so does their Topflex supplement, although it doesn't say exact quantities.

Does anyone know the recommended dose for boswellia for horses? I'd be interested in hearing your experiences of boswellia, or joint supplements that have those ingredients in them. Preferably not with turmeric as worried that is too heating.

I've tried feeding Boswellia to an old horse who has arthritis and digestive problems and RAO, all of which it claimed to help with. To be honest I didn't notice much difference though my horse is not a straightforward case having a number of things wrong with him so it may work for some horses. The boswellia I got was from feedmark and it said the doseage on the pack. Think I fed about 60ml a day but could be wrong!

I am having huge success with green lipped mussel must say nearly pts my horse due to stiffness now he is very rude and dragging me round the yard but he's 24 so it's allowed

Thank you. Hmm, food for thought, pardon the pun. I'm not sure whether the brinicombe one would give the right dosage (will email them). I'm wondering whether to go with something like naf superflex and then get boswellia from feedmark although might work out expensive. I've seen some that have that mussel stuff in so will have another browse. So many choices!

we've fed boswellia to ours for a couple of years now, and can't believe the difference in Tom (arthritic, with spavin in both hocks, and sidebone in both fronts)...

previously we've used naturebute from pegasus equine, but this year we're using a bespoke joint supplement from Hack Up and both horses feel amazing. Ron, aged 20, has discovered his extended trot at long last, and Tom is so incredibly springy and supple that he feels like a 6yo again, not the stiff 20yo he should be! I cannot over estimate how impressed I am with the service and supplement from hack up, and I'm not one who's usually swayed by these things!

Thank JenH - do you know what ingredients are in your hack up one and do you add the boswellia separately? I did get one but it's got turmeric and I think that might have contributed to recent excess fizziness so am after something without turmeric in it, just in case. Have emailed Alex to see if he can do a different formulation but found the brinicombe one in the meantime which looks interesting too.
