Did anyone read this week about the low KC registration numbers of many British breeds?

It seems that bloodhounds, greyhounds and Pembroke corgis all made the list...

I must say that, whenever I visit my parents, people in their area seem to favour Labs, Collies, Springers and Yorkies (for the grans

), much as they did twenty years ago. Not noticed any chis and pugs. Yet.

I don't know about in England, but I have to say what a surprise it was to me to read the breeds as these are ALL exceptionally popular breeds in my area of Canada. There are absolutely tonnes of bloodhounds around my area. Corgis, greyhounds, smooth collies and even Skye Terriers are very popular where I live. Weird eh?

Southampton

No Chis or Pugs here either,

Loads of retreviers, labs, staffs, Jack russells, collies, huskys/mamalute, spaniels of all types, mongerels (of greyhound/terrier/labs/collies type mixes), Saw few Yorkies, shi tuz. And Boris' best friend a beautiful big lady masiff!

I'd love a Bloodhound. I have 2 dogs already and at 6 and 8 years old, I won't be getting another for years (hopefully!)

I was reading about this is sporting shooter (or some magazine similar) - its a real shame - however I can not talk as I own a Rhodesian Ridgeback so not supporting the British Breed... ALTHOUGH we have a Patterdale too so that can cancel out my deviation!! LOL!!
