Has anyone done one or know of anyone that has done one? Only found out about them yesterday and really need to start thinking of ideas for when I leave college. Have looked on all the relevant websites but none seem to give that much information. Thanks :)

We have a BD apprentice at the yard I work at. She does normal yard hours and work but also receives training and has a logbook to fill out. The logbook covers riding and stable management and our boss will go over topics with her every now and again and sign them off as she progresses. If you can find a good trainer/employer to do it with I think it's a great idea.

You can also do an Apprenticeship on Management of the Sports and Competition Horse via Haddon Training in Wiltshire. If you get a grooming/riding position at a yard, you can then contact Haddon Training and they will come and visit you at the yard and manage your training for your qualification. The Apprenticeship is in 3 levels I think. Good luck.

Richard Davidson did have a position for a BD apprentice,
ive not looking into it much as from what i understand its more like the BGA rather than an actual qualification and as ive done some apprenticeships already i havent really looked into it much, i know working for someone like Richard Davidson would be totally invaluable but it seems another scheme where people can just over work and under pay you
