Finally! Time to figure out what I’m doing.

Many of my favourite events are missing: Somerford, Frickley, Stafford, Speetley. Can’t see Kelsall at grassroots either, unless I’m being blind. Chillington Hall is there though.

Feeling a bit underwhelmed tbh but maybe I need to find new venues? Where is good in the Northwest/East Midlands?!

Also why does the fixture list end in August?

I think it's taking forever to upload. I looked last night and it only went as far as April. If you follow BE on Facebook though they had a pdf with a list of all the events through to October.

I'm in Wales so no help with suggestions of venues for you. I'm hoping to do some 80s this year with my new horse after having to retire my other one and several years out of competing. There's never really much in South Wales but they look to have a few in the South West and Gloucestershire and some that previously only went down to 90 now have 80 classes too. I haven't really bothered to look properly yet though, I'll think about it more in the new year and probably not fussed about doing anything before May due to everything usually getting cancelled in March and April!

Cumbria is feeling a bit bare with Warwick gone 😢
fingers crossed for better weather. Hopefully start at Northallerton and go from there.
Missing somerford as well. Hard to get a full season up here now.

Stupid clashes in the SW again, every year I hope someone with some common sense will look at it, every year I am disappointed.

I did see a post on Facebook where BE did say that the dates of the big 5 stars moving, and obviously Paris had made the calendar challenging.

I'm tempted to go and spectate at Bicton in May.

I thought Launceston had said they were going to pull out of BE entirely, so pleased to see they have kept one date going as I know some people hoping to get there this year!

It looks like Frickley have got one date in August which is the regional champs? I don't know if that's helpful to you?

@Wishfilly the Frickley date is for qualified combinations. I’ll go if I qualify but it’s slim pickings to get those DCs. Ah well I loved the showjumping this year, so maybe I’ll just do that more.

Ah right, I don't really understand how it all works, sorry! Does the same apply to all the regional finals? I thought some ran "ordinary" classes alongside- has that stopped?

Because if so, that means there's only really one event date in Cornwall this year, no lower height ODEs in Devon, either, which really is slim pickings.

You might be right - perhaps they run normal classes alongside.

@ycbm of all the stupid decisions BE has made, I think stripping Somerford of their grassroots event is the most ridiculous. Somerford cancelled 2 in a row: once because they didn’t have the numbers to run that weird year all events struggled, and once in biblical weather. So BE took their date. I do desperately want it restored. It was by far the best XC track I ever rode.

On first glance it looks a bit light in the ground... Will have to look in more detail after Christmas.

I really do want to support BE and I want to have a crack at qualifying for grassroots- unfortunately there are only a handful of events within 2 hours of me.

having moved from east mids to south west, I was pleasantly surprised how many runs I could get within 2.5hrs! If not for other plans I could run at least twice a month most months, sometimes more. Though granted, I never evented much until the last 5 years, so I don’t have much to compare it to fixture wise…
