Forgive me for being a bit thick on this one (!) Am I right in thinking that you can't get any points in Intro and Pre-Novice, but you can at Novice. If so, how would you know you were ready to move up to Novice? Also once you are competing at Novice, for instance, would you need to get 'x' amount of points before you could move up to Intermediate for example.

Looks to me to be really hard to get a point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Sorry if I have just confused everyone, including myself)
Thankies, R xxx

No points at intro and PN.
Points at Novice - do not have to have any points at Novice but need 4 clears at xc at Novice level to move up to intermediate. I think its 20 points before you are out of Novice classes.
As for knowing when you are ready - the Novice dressage is ok, I think if you are confidently jumping 1.10m at SJ comps and your horse is finding PN easy then you are ready to move up.
You can get a point for getting a double clear.

Randira - the time to move up from PN to novice is the point where your horse is telling you that he needs a new challenge! For some horses that can be quicker than others. There is quite a jump from PN - Novice and once your horse is going round all his PN tracks confidently and feeling like he needs to go - thats the time to move up to novice.
