I have bought a new horse and want to register him for British Eventing, he is already registered with his old owner and so the BE website says I must complete a change of ownership form before I can renew his membership for me to compete him. However the problem is his old owner is away travelling and unable to fill out the form- does anyone know of there is a way around the change of ownership form?

Many thanks!

BE are usually very helpful as they will want your entries, there is a way round it if you read the 2nd note under important where they can transfer if the previous owner is unable to sign as long as you can offer some proof that you actually own the horse, a copy of the receipt will do or get a relative/ agent, if you bought through a 2nd party, to provide evidence that the sale took place.

Ring them or email them, from past experience they will change the ownership without needing anything from the previous owner.
