I’m planning on eventing my 13.3hh pony. But my question is, what height is he allowed up to in BE?

Also, what would peoples plan of action be to get a green pony who has not done much at all ready for eventing? Obviously like XC training but anything else less obvious? I will be taking him to some arena eventing this winter, as I’m not sure if he will be fit enough before the cross country courses close for schooling.

Also how would you introduce a pony to cross country jumps? He loves his jumping but like I said, not done a lot at all and only started jumping with me.

Your pony can only do 80/90cm classes.

For the rest I’d get some good regular instruction from someone who trains children & ponies for Eventing and be guided by them

He does not have to be eventing fit to xc school, at the early stages there should be no galloping about he should just quietly be seeing the new fences, popping over out of trot, going over a few ditches, into water and generally getting used to jumping in a bigger space, if he is fit enough to school or compete sj he should easily cope with a xc school if done sensibly.
If you want to event next season it makes sense to get the first couple of schooling sessions done now when he is not too fit and he can learn how to move on over the fences early next year once he is better established.

Find a good trainer that will get you started properly without encouraging charging about.
