Bosworth Show has been cancelled so one of the 2nd round for BN is being held at Weston Lawns. We have qualified for these but I would like to know how big the 2nd round is usually. I have phoned up today and they told me that there is a normal round starting at 1m, then if clear again, a JO then if clear, another JO against the clock. It is A8, whatever that one is without looking. Does anyone know the height of the first JO and also how does Paul Connor build his tracks, ie, big solid, or forgiving?
Thanks

Paul Connor builds nice tracks up to heigh but fair and usually straightforward. The first JO off could be 1.10 and the second could be 1.20 however it will depend on ground conditions and standard of entry.

Thanks, I think that I will leave it this time, and do the BN and Discovery.

im doing the BN first round and Disco- my horse had qualified for 2nd rounds with her last owner but we are deffinately not ready for that height yet!

I have been having a few problems with my mare with stopping for no reason, but with more positive riding and trying to hold her together more, we went to Hargates last week and hired the fences from the show the day before and jumped a round of 90cm-1m, then jumped a 1.05-1.10m brilliantly which did my confidence the world of good, then we went to WL on Thursday and jumped in the BN and we were clear.
It was single phase. The commentator said that we had gone into 3rd place, then seconds later apologised and said that I was eliminated due to missing fence 11.

But to me that was a brilliant clear round.

Roxy didn`t know that we missed one so she had loads of hugs and extra haylage on the lorry.

good luck. I will say that Paul tends to build either slightly long or slightly short (normally long). I have actually always preferred this as encourages you to ride a more forward thinking round.

Also biggest it will go to in final jump off is 1m20 but if numbers are low it prob in 2nd and 3rd round won't go that high.

I am on a lovely bay 16.3hh warmblood. I usually always shout "Has the bell gone?"
I have a white saddle cloth and black eskadron boots all round.
I am tall with long dark hair that I wear in a pony tail, and I am one of the friendly people who smiles a lot at other riders.

I will be with another friend who is also riding a bay with white legs.
We will most probably be warming up at about the same time.
I have most probably already smiled at you before now if you have been before.

Didnt go today Claire, friends horse was lame who I was going with and she was picking me up. I was told that it was sooooooo packed that I`m glad that I didnt go. At least it gives us a chance to put some more practice in, before going up a class. She really should be jumping Newcomers now but I am a bit chicken yet. Hopefully if she keeps going well now, we will get into the next class. She can only win £2 before we are knocked out of the BN anyway. We are looking for a new horsie now too. There is a chap over your way, I am gonna PM you and ask you what you know about them. Catch ya soon, and love to Peli. Sent you PM but forgot to tell you that we didnt go. x x x
