The 2 qualifying places from the 3 classes at the Addington Classic went to William Whitaker (Arielle was the only horse not to fault at all) and Tim Stockdale.
Excellent. William has to be one of the best riders we have seen for a long time. Tim? Great to see him back on form and I cant think of anyone more deserving.
I've never seen Animation go better than she did on Friday when she won the 1st qualifier. Tim then rode very sensibly to take 5th in the speed leg when the only rider eligible for points ahead of him was Helen Tredwell. A bit lucky to get away with 4 faults on Sunday but they had done enough. Helen Tredwell was unlucky to just miss out on qualifying for the 2nd year in succession.
Michael Whitaker won the speed leg with Up to Date 8 and Robert Whitaker won the final leg on Lacroix 9 (he was also 4th with Nureev).
Excellent course design by Mark McGowan.
oww well done William and Tim. Love Animation, used to compete against her a few years back and it was obvious she was something special back in Newcomer classes so has been great to see her progress.
