Evening all!

Currently doing BHS Horse Owner's Level 3 homework, and instructor has asked for us to research BS and BD turnout. I cannot find a clear answer anywhere on the internet, so could anyone help me? Need to know rider and horse dress and any banned gadgets etc and whether turnout/banned things change through the stages.

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks :) x

Can help a bit with BD, BS does not have too many restrictions as far as turnout goes other than safety rules re hats, boots etc. tack is pretty much anything goes.

BD, snaffles only must be worn up to elem level, then you may use a double but do not have to. Nosebands, flash, drop or cavesson not grackles.
Saddles must be of English style, white squares are generally used but not compulsory.
Horses wear bridle numbers.
No boots or bandages during test. Whips may be carried, spurs may be worn. Whips not allowed at some finals and above a certain level, not quite sure on that.
Rider turnout at lower levels either tweed, coloured stock or shirt & tie, cream jods, or navy jacket, white stock, white or cream jods. Long boots or short boots and gaiters. Gloves must be worn and should be of a light colour.
At elem and above most wear navy and I think it is compulsory from med level although most people seem to wear navy even for prelims now.
Hats now have to have a harness.
