our yearling (Shetland x) got kicked in the leg by a dartmore x 3 weeks ago she was bit lame and the time and had heat in the leg ect cold hosed her leg she seamed OK after few days just slight heat in it, a bruised came up just below her cornet band and had started growing out but her foots been twisting slowly out ward , since she was kicked looks almost pigoned toed vet said to call farrier and go from there well had farrier out again he's rasped her hoof to see if that will help and said she will need x rays ect

Get the vet and farrier to work together. If a youngster is left like this the joint capsuals will close and they will be like this permanantly.... worst case scenario is that the joints fix in this position and you are left with a pony with a wonky leg and a twisted foot. A good vet and farrier will have it sorted out within a year.
