Arrived to get horses in this evening and my yearling had muddy knees ( nothing unusual ) lead him in. Slightly lame.
Noticed his knee looked rather swollen. Hosed off the mud and on closer inspection there is a small puncture wound

Vet called straight away. Sedated him, Cleaned it gave pain killers and hit it hard with anti-biotics.
They don't think its the knee joint but might have penatrated the sheath tendon. Vet said its not looking good either way. If no improvement then off to horsey hospital tomorrow .

Thanks in advance.
Feeling a bit crappy

Thanks.
I hope so to.
Bit worried he's going to be broken before he's even backed.
I've worked so hard with this little man.
Life can be horrible sometimes.

OMG, you poor thing. Really, really hope things aren't as bad as they could be. Fingers are crossed for you. Babies are so good at healing at that age, hopefully he'll heal without infection or long term problems. Keep us posted.
