Ive currently been given a broodmare that hasnt been ridden for 8 years. I know it is going to take a lot of work to get her back into being ridden. I havent got much experience with broodmares and would like to know where to start i lunge her once already and she was great but dont want to push her too far. Could anyone give me any advice on this??

I bought one back into work. I treated her as if she was starting from scratch, but she remembered everything as if she's been ridden yesterday. She'd only been a broodie for four years though. ;)

:)I have not long taken on a 6 year old chestnut Mare and her Foal who is almost 6 months old.I bought her off a small time dealer who told me she had being broken as a 3/4 year old ridden for a while then put in Foal, but it has since transpired that she has never being broken at all,so we going to have to start right at the beginning with her:)
