Brown leather

Could you turn it black? with some black polish!

Just temporary! There is a nice breast girth for sale on ebay but is brown! looks black though!

You can but it is not a short process, you will need to scrub the leather to open the pores and make sure you have any oils, creams and dirt so the leather is completely clean. Then go to your local ironmonger/corner shop jack of all trades type shop and buy some leather dye, this comes as little coloured pearls, then dissolve the pearls and paint/soak your now naked leather breastplate in it. Then you will need to speak to your local saddler and get some of the sealant you paint on the leather that will hold the colour and stop it running. Then you can treat the leather are normal. Hopefully by then you should have a nice black breastplate. It is long winded but hope that helps.

And I have brought some black leather dye. So will clean leather very well then dye!! If I win it! I probably wont win it now!!!

Just don't use it on a light coloured horse in case it runs!

they are both bay so should be ok!! I will make sure it is really dry before I use it! Although could run with rain or sweat! Worth a try though!!

To be honest it doesnt look very brown at all in the picture - it looks black

Hi, are you sure that you need to dye it? I have a black saddle with a dark havanna bridle, no-one notices. If it is dark, it may be ok.

Yes if it is dark it may be ok! Will have to see when I get it!!

Not even sure if it will fit but I fugure I can re-sell on ebay if it doesnt fit anyway!!
