Can I see some pictures of your bay horses in brown tack? :)

I've just been given a brown saddle to try on Ethel and although the colour doesnt bother me (I'm just glad to have one! And yes, I will have it fitted properly :) ) Im not sure brown would suit her! In my head in doesnt look right so I'd like to see some pics :) Ta!

Dont have pictures of the saddle on as haven't tried it yet but here's my girlie :)

I've only had black tack on her before so no idea how she'd look in brown!

Dee O'Dorant .. Youre right, that is a brown bridle! I completely forgot I had it and didn't even notice she had it on in that pic until you pointed it out! What a numpty :o

I absolutely detest black tack with a passion!
So for me, all colours of horses are always in brown tack & it looks lovely, including a jet black Newfie i had....

Agree...brown is best. I have brown on my bay. I do posess a black saddle and bridle which I bought for my grey. Looked lovely, but a black saddle is a B*****d when it is wet as the colour comes out big time!

The bridle is an in hand bridle that I bought whilst learning how to use eBay :o her actual riding bridle is black, and I've just bought her a new one .. In black!

monkeybum, your horse is gorgeous! And brown looks a lot better on bays than I thought, for some reason I thought it would be really obvious that it's brown but it actually blends in nicely :)

I used to like black tack, but I have brown on my bay now (and brass when I can, know it's not traditionally 'right'!). Absolutely stunning! Even ended up with a brown headcollar cos it's such a nice combination on his colour :)

I've never owned black tack and never will. I am also a traditionalist, so brown it is. I use brown tack on all of my horses who happen to be; greys, bays, chestnuts, blacks, palominos, red roans, a black dun, buckskins, a couple of Paints (coloureds) and blanket and leopard spot Apps. Brown tack suits them all.

I think when I win the lottery and get my second horse (dapple grey hunter) then he can have black tack - I think that looks dead smart. But otherwise, brown - it has so much more colour and depth, just lovely when it's clean and shiny :)
