Bruised oats

Do I need to soak them like whole oats for my old boy?

Some how Bruised oats have been delivered instead of whole oats and because I've opened the bag they won't change them

I was looking at my old boy this morning after being on his new diet for 2 weeks and there is a small difference in his weight i think, so at the moment am hopeful its working

they do soak ok, I have real trouble getting whole oats so always buy bruised from the local feed store

I soaked them last night and the water is white so do I through it away (the water)
