Can anyone recommend a topical treatment which may help please? I have a KWPN gelding who suffers from this but he's a very sensitive feeder and anything added results in him leaving the whole feed. Getting bute into him requires adding water and giving it in a syringe!!
I'm sure that the problem arises after being on wet ground as the timings of lameness fir this.

I use the ProFeet RockHard when my mares soles start going soft - ie bits of plastic from the school surface start digging holes. I paint it on daily until they harden up again then go back to either Kevin Bacon or Effol dressing

Ask your farrier. My pony has very soft soles and can struggle on gravel and stones, and once even got a twig stuck in his hoof that the vet had to do an op to remove! My farrier gives me this oilment stuff to put on his hoove when im working him often. I dont know exactly what it is as he just put it into a bottle for me, i will have to ask when he comes next. But it has been fantastic for my boys feet and has really improved them over time
