My horrid horse kicked me!!! Right in the stomach, no bones broken thank goodness BUT I've got a bruise like a map of the world on me.

Needless to say this is the end of the road for my horse & I; we've had ups and downs (plus a lot of good times too) BUT this really is THE END. Divorce pending on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour: assault and battery.

I'm taking Arnica tablets (luckily had some in hand) and rubbing in Arnica gel. But still very sore and swollen. Event happened last Friday.

So any ideas please? Is applying something cool a good idea, or heat treatment best? Or just to leave alone and let the body sort itself out.

Blimmin horses.

NAF arnica gel (also has witch hazel and somethings else i cant remember in!) - fab for horses but also fab for people - i've used it on myself a few times - always use it on HRH's legs after fast or hard work too

Ice packs are good for bruising / reducing swelling & however if you can stand the pain try not to decrease the swelling as this is actually part of the bodies healing process or try to leave it as much as possible.

Arnica is good for bringing the bruising out & ibuprofen will reduce swelling & decrease pain if you haven't got ice / bag of peas handy!

Hope you get better soon
