Rode in a borrowed saddle today which is harder than my usual saddle. Noted that something hurt abit on my left upper thigh, but rode through it, as you do!
Several hours later, I have a rather large bruise forming there and can't for the life of me work out why this would be? The saddle is loads harder and not comfy at all, so my legs and bum are generally abit sore as is expected, but this excessive amount of bruising on one side really is weird.

Anyone have any experiences with this?

no, stirrup bars can be very unsymmetrical and can stick out into your leg. (normally the stirrup comes off that side very easily) or they can stick into the horse and create a white patch on the horses back
