Hi,
I’m entered in a BS training show, I read when they first came out you didn’t have to wear completion gear, is this still the case?

Thanks!

Usually. BS is relatively tolerant but I would expect white / cream / beige Johds. Long boots or short boots and chaps. A stock shirt or technical top and a Jacket of some form, be that a tweed or a coloured jacket. If the weather is bad you might be allowed to wear a bouson style rain coat (although I must confess that just makes the rain run down into your johds!) But to be sure call the secretary and ask.

It probably depends where you are - we always wear competition gear for BS shows in Devon, as far as I'm aware.

Haven't seen training shows since the mainstream ones came back but certainly when I went in June it was anything goes definitely not competition gear but tack had to be legal

TBH I keep a spare pair of competition breeches on the wagon for just such a crisis of confidence but the dress down aspect of the training shows was really nice. They also don't go on the record.

Thanks for the replies!
It was a mixture of everything - some people in full competition gear, some in regular gear & some in competition breeches but regular tops!
