JW Jump Jacket £100 off Ebay in the "best selling" colour of navy and white. Have no idea what it will look like however as I haven't seen a picture, only the one on the JW website which doesn't show this colour. Am hoping it will go with my black GPA helmet though as aint getting that in navy!

I dont like the look of it from the pic and dislike JW stuff, but hell after getting peed of having to take outer jackets on and off before doing my rounds, Im hoping this'll be more practical, and also better for our wet summer shows.

Ive so far only seen ONE person wearing one of these new jackets... aah well I like being in the minority!

Post a link to it please if poss?

I've been thinking about getting one for the same reason but *think* I saw someone in one a few weeks ago. It looked like the jackets from Fools on Horses ie kind of a nylon tracksuit top. Wasn't sure about it up close, but the person wearing it had bought one 2 sizes too small, which prob didn't help...

I've just posted on competition riders section about where to get one! Can you tell me the name of the ebayer you got it from if it was a business? Son desperate for one - saw one in grey front and back with black sleeves and side panels at the weekend at Dabbs and it was actually ok...

Here's a link to the JW one (worn by that woman from FOH):

There is another make which I believe is also BSJA legal but I have never managed to find out who its by or where to get it. Ive asked the BSJA and they say only the JW are legal...

measles - will PM you her email address just now as she doesn't have any of the jackets listed just now, she put my one on buy it now specifically for me so you just need to ask. I believe she only has navy and white in stock but can get the others.

There are a couple of people who wear them at Duckhurst regularly now. One is grey panels with black sleeves, the other is navy blue all over with a logo on the arm (couldn't read it !). They do look okay for the indoor season...and I was looking on the JW website yesterday for them too. I couldn't work out if the 'Jump Jacket' was actually them though as from the photo the material looks different to the two i've seen

They only cost £120 from JW btw....I for some reason was expecting them to be nearer £200

Other problem with the JW site is that they list the colours available as single colours...I.e Blue, Black etc. How do you get a two tone version

If you buy from this woman through Ebay - she charged me I think £103. So cheaper than direct from JW. She's the cheapest Ive found.

I think they WERE originally more expensive than this weren't they?? Im sure they were only available on one specific website, were about £200 and had 2 variations - a summer one and a winter one (ie. with a quilted lining).

The "Jump" one had BETTER be the approved one! The woman said it was. I have asked the BSJA twice to confirm what the name of the jackets are which are allowed and all they say are they're from JW and they have a BSJA logo on the arm.... how unhelpful when trying to order online!

Its arrived. Actually, it looks better on than I thought. Compared to the photo on the JW site!

Its very soft material, like thick track suit type material. Actually, it is very comfy on and kinda stretchy. It says its wind and waterproof yet breathable so hopefully it'll be practical.

Its quite tailored. I got a medium and Im a size 12. Its fine round the hips / waist although the arms seem a bit generous and the cuffs are huge (although do have velcro to tighten). Seems good quality (for JW...!).

Will get my boyfriend to take a pic of it in a bit and post it here later today

Ok here it is (please excuse gross scruffy trousers - Ive been mucking out!):

I realised here's toggle bits hidden in the pockets so you can pull the waist right in (which Ive done a bit). As you can see, the arms are a bit roomy looking.

surely that can't be progress?

it's hideous.......more like something worn at an athletics meeting.

and not cheap, either.

Well, I can't see the piccies that MM has posted so can only comment on the ones i've seen, and from the perspective of someone who often has to unload, groom, tack-up etc two horses on his own at a show i'm all for something a little more 'robust' than my very smart, but dry clean only, hand made, navy blue Equiport jacket which shows every single mark

As for the price, well compared to my current show jacket £120 is a steal and if it saves on dry cleaning too then that's a bonus

It's easy enough to spend that much on a 'normal' blouson jacket for the yard if you buy a named brand too

Thanks JM07 for telling me Im going to look hideous from now on...

Rambo - EXACTLY my thoughts! I think the horsey world need to shake off this silly old fashioned image and start BEING athletic and LOOKING like a sport! What's practical is surely better than looking all posh and proper?! And if everybody wore these then I think it would look just as smart.

It is quite expensive, BUT like Rambo says - its still way cheaper than most show jackets. And with this, I can just bung it in the wash so it'll always be nice and clean
