BSJA Five Star Performance Awards

It won't be any different to the bronze level training - as you have the same people teaching and being taught - all I can see extra is that they might make you sit in a classroom to go over the theory of SJ/flat work/horse care. You will also have to do more of it to get your books signed off.

I thought Bronze (Area) training pre-dated the introduction of Accredited coaches but I could well be wrong. Isn't the difference that Bronze was just a day or 2 of group sessions with a trainer with some riders being recommended to progress to Silver, whereas the new scheme is supposed to be tailored to each individual? It'll be interesting to hear feedback once it's been under way for a while.

Lex has an ISH passport issued in Dublin but you are right about the vaccines - that would proove she was in the UK as a 3 year old.

With an ISH passport the BSJA will contact Showjumping Ireland and check any records. It is only for countries that can not supply records that the age rule applies. So you will start off with £0.

Incidently, I recently purchased an ISH. I contacted SJI who emailed my lads records to me FOC and within 2 days. Shame the BSJA dont do that.

No, the bronze training is done by accredited coaches. The one I went one the guy was a proper coach - however he was also completly useless, I think he was having a bad day.

I have also had a lesson with Fred bergondoff (sp) I think he is a coach and he was very good

The bronze training I attended wasn't done by an Accredited Coach.........He had coached an Olympic SJ'ing team though if that counts

We all have bad days sometimes, but of course it's most unfortunate when you are on the receiving end of someone's bad day!

I've just seen the Coach categorisation list on the BSJA website which shows which shows who teaches what category e.g. Tina Fletcher is one of those who does not teach pony riders.

I believe Fred is highly thought of both as a trainer and a rider (eventing as well as SJ). he was of course one of Tim's assistants on Only Fools on Horses.
