Hi,
I was wondering if anybody has a jump jacket and if so are they any good? I know that lots of people prefer the traditional ones but they are so restrictive when you have a body protector on! Also can you wear them at unaff. shows or pony club??
Thanks

I have one, it's really comfy and goes in the washing machine. I like it because in hot weather it's cooler than a show jacket and also in winter I can put several layers underneath it. I just waer a polo neck so no need to faff about with stocks or a tie.

I've never worn a BP under mine but it's stretchy so should be fine. Also never worn it for RC/PC or unaff (only do BSJA and BE) but if I was going to an unaff show I would wear it

I got mine on ebay for £50

I'd be careful, as several RCs and PCs specify that those sort of jackets aren't to be worn at their shows. I know ours does... And I def wouldn't wear one for PC stuff. Tbh, your traditional jacket shouldn't be any more restricting than wearing any other type of jacket...

I've got a Musto jacket which is a traditional style, but in stretchy lightweight material like the JW ones. I love it. May be worth a look as an inbetweeny?

I have one and really like it.. it's comfortable and you can basically wear what you like underneath it without anyone knowing.. :rolleyes:

However, I much prefer traditional show jackets look-wise.. much smarter :)

I like mine, really comfy & as others have said you can wear what you like underneath. I wear it in bad weather or not so good shows & my traditional Equiport show jacket for bestest best!

i bought a blue one a few years ago and i absolutely loved it - for all the reasons stated above but i never liked myself in it in photos - not as flattering as a traditional jacket - but much more forgiving on a "fat" day! iv got an animo now and i think thats the best of both worlds.

three words;

i want one.....

:D

can these be used at both affiliated and unaffiliated???

shame they are not dressage legal too as i would be buying one tonight :( :(

I find getting any sort of clothing to fit perfectly pretty difficult as I'm tall and lanky. When I was about 14/15 I had a JW jumping jacket (in a beautiful grey colour with blue velvet collar and silver piping) and it fitted PERFECTLY, didn't feel stretched across the shoulders or anything. I guess if you were to get one in blue, without the piping, it's like every other jacket out there? Just abit better quality.....I'd say go for it, would def try ebay for a bargain first though!! xoxo
