if a horse is imported to england and there is no record of when it was imported, if you affiliate bsja do they automatically slap £200 pounds on their card? someone has just told me they do, and if they did would take mine out of british novice, she is 6, and was broken in engalnd last year, imported as 3/4 yr old we think, thanks

It depends how old the horse is when you register it.

A friend's horse was imported as a 6yo, but not registered BSJA until he was a 9yo. They slapped the full (at the time!) £1800 on his card

They are currently going through the long and tedious task of 'proving' the horse had won nothing in Holland, Belgium and Germany before he came over here

shes 6, is there any way round it? wasnt even backed when she was abroad

As a 6yo she will get about £200 applied automatically. You can talk to them at head office and explain the situation, but they won't be too interested i'm afraid

They may get you to contact the three federations listed above, but i've only ever managed to get a response from Holland for any of my queries. It's tricky to prove that they've never heard of the horse you see

I take it the horse has a passport and microchip number...as this will make it easier for the federations to trace

yep she has english and belgium passports, and microchipped

Well phone the BSJA then and ask them to give you the contact details for Holland (info@knhs.nl i think

), Belgium and Germany

Okay, sorry for hijacking but...

In Snoops case hes 4 okay 5 this year and is a KWPN imported last June. Does this mean he would have money slapped on his card also? or do i have to reg him quick before he turns 5 or what?

Im jumping on a ticket this weekend but when i do final rob the bank and have the money to reg him what would this mean?

In BSJA 'speak' he is already 5 so he'll get £50 slapped on his card if you register him before 1st June....£100 if you leave it until after

See I knew I should have registered him before xmas. GROAN!! I guess it makes no difference that he was only broken in when he was brought over here.... gahh!

Sometimes, BE is far easier to deal with........

Fanks Rambo, I guess it only matters if he excels himself at the lower levels then... mind you how much do you have to win before you are out of BN?

Have you had him vacinated since he's come over, did you get him vetted. I would use this as proof that your horse was in the UK as a 4 YO and should start from zero. We've never had any money put on horses that would be classed as imported.

Nope *shakes head*
Didnt have him vetted, didnt feel we needed too. I have all his passport, certificates/vet and micro chip cards which come over from Holland with him - hence why we didnt have him vetted as it was done only 3 months before we purchased him.

Umm will ask - failing that i will get someone I know who deals with BJSA daily to do it for me lol she has far more clout than me.

If i were you i would say you were told she was english bred when you bought her and plead ignorance. Many out there do

Might have a problem when they check the passport / chip number though and find it's KWPN or Belgian or whatever
