on some of the classes it says 'if more than 30 entries class will be split'. what do they mean by this? sorry for what is probably a dumb question but we are new to all this bsja lark and havnt got the rule book yet!
That normally applies to classes like newcomers/1.10m opens. When the classes are combined they can be split if they have sufficient entries so that those with newcomer horses jump against the same and open horses jump with other open horses! Bit confusing but ya get it?!?!
Basically means that in a NC / 1.10m Open or Fox / 1.20m Open, they will pay out two sets of prizes if there are more than 30 starters. One set for the restricted horses, and another for the Open horses.
If that still doesn't make sense horse that have won more than £600 and are out of Foxhunter can still jump 'open classes'.
If an 'open' class has more than 30 starters then they will split the class for open horses and novice horses (horses who are not out of the classes yet) and do two lost of placings. If there is less than 30 then they will run the prizes together.
