What do the regional points (absolute horse) accumulate for? Annual prize? Specific comp?

very important question this as I seem to have 10 of them and might have to jump another open on sunday if its worth it.

I think it varies from region to region but in Sussex this year the top 40 (or thereabouts) points scorers at 90cms and 1m where eligible for a special championships class at the Area Show in July. I think the top points scorer at each heights is presented with a prize at the end of year ball too.

What I don't understand though is that the Am classes run at 90cms, 1m, 1.10m and 1.20m but points are only allocated at 90cms and 1m classes

Thanks Rambo. Will have to have a word with area sec.
probably because 90cm and 1mtr are more ameteur based (top 450 excluded) than the 1.10 and 1.20 (only top250 excluded).

Basically you get points for every time you get placed in an amateur class and they go towards the region ranking list and then at the end of the year whoever is on top wins a prize. I won my regions 1m last year on me old boy and think I have won it again this year. My prize was a rug, sash big rossete, plaque and a BSJA calender!! What I thought would be a good idea would be to hold like a championship show where winners from each region and each category compete against each other for one over all winner!!!! :-)
Oh also if you jump out of your region you still get the points!! Hope that helps!!!
