Hi there guys, just a quick question re Brittish novice second rounds

.when do yo have to get your 4 double clears by?

.Are they really massive, i had a look in the rule book and it says the jump off in the 2nd round can go up to 1m 20

Im a bit new to the bsja scene and dont no :o, thankyou

ok I think it's by May 1st.. I didn't do 2nd rounds last year as we wern't ready!!
1st round 1.05m 2nd round 1.15m final round 1.20m realistically imo you need to be jumping Newcomers.. Is hope after jumping Newcomers through the winter season will be abit more ready next year!! :p

Hi, good that you're having a go at affiliated jumping!

Technically, it's the last day of April that you have until to get your double clears.

2nd rounds (or Regional Finals as they like to call them now) are built over 3 rounds (Table A8) and it really depends on who's building as to how fierce they are - they're not allowed to go over 1.20m in the final round though.

Realistically, it's far too early to start panicking about them just now - see how you get on over the winter with Discovery & hopefully some Newcomers classes later on.

Good luck with your jumping (and remember to have fun!) :)

Thanx guys, im hoping to have a crack at a couple of newcomers over the winter but we will see how it all goes, i just thought id see as she has 3 bn double clears, we got them early on sort of april may time and i have allways had a pole since then , crikey they are big in the second round, is there anything more realistic for the freindly novice on an ordinary horse to work towards? x

amateur second rounds are the same as the height you qualified at so if you qualify in the 1m the second round is 1m. There's also blue chip qualifiers you could have a go at over the winter

Also 1.00m Kathrine James novice will also qualify you for Scope is 1.00m in the 1st round and 1.10m in the jump off is incorporated in some Discovery's ;) need to come in the 1st 6 is going to have a go at BN 2nd rounds but KJ novice might be a more realistic way to qualify for scope!! ;)
