Hi there, this is my first post and I would like to know what people think of showing a Welsh Sec A in a BSPS Lead Rein Class. We are not members of the BSPS either, but would like to give it a go to see how we get on. So, basically, can we enter as non-members and will we be frowned upon for not having a mini thoroughbred? Our pony isn't too chunky and he does go in an outline and carries himself well whilst on the lead rein.

Try this in Competition Riders for a better response (or even a different forum altogether ie, Horse Gossip - tends to be quite showing orientated on there)

You don't have to be a member to enter normal BSPS classes,, but of you qualify for the BSPS Championships, then you have to be come a member within about a week to keep the qualification - you also have to be a member to enter RI & HOYS qualifiers.

You'll be fine with a section a - there are m&m lead rein classes as well (no need to plait) & if you do hunter type lead rein, you'll have to plait.
