Took Portia to Bucks County yesterday. (Interesting sport horse class, some of the high scoring Futurity horses not finding favour with the judge, but thats another story)
Anyway, she had a flid on the lorry and bashed her hock badly, bloody useless travel boots, so unless it's goes down miraclulously (and we are trying everything), she wont be going on Sunday.

Best laid plans and all that.....

Oh no, what bad luck.
Aren't horses wonderful? Hope Portia feels better soon.

I'm new here but have been on your website and your foals are beautiful. I was particularly interested in Oriana as we are thinking about using Samaii in the future.

Well done at qualifying for the champs, you should be very proud of your beautiful girl

Well to be honest I couldnt see a trend in what she liked. A hunter of Ann bassetts won the 2yos, a nice coloured one the 3yos with a lovely big lauriston type in 2nd. But a yearling filly that did very well int he futurity just days ago, won the RH class under one judge and no where in the sporthorse class, yet to my eye she was one of the nicest yearlings in the class.

We came 2nd under a judge at Lincoln earlier in the year (and beaten by a show horse not a sporthorse IMHO) and the same judge was the vet at HofE and he raved about her then. I didnt click it was the same man till after the vetting.

Hock still looks huge this afternoon. She is totally sound though, but no idea how to make the swelling go down any faster (cold hosing, arnica and witch hazel and bute) I am still going to go and watch on Sunday but would like to have been flying the Trakehner flag in the ring instead

This was her yesterday, bless her
